A series of preliminary conferences before the meeting here next week of the World Zionist Congress, begin here today.
The Congress Court opens its sessions today to hear complaints about irregularities in the election of delegates to the Congress, to certify delegates’ mandates and to take up complaints which may have been entered by the various parties.
Conferences of representatives of the Keren Kayemeth and the Keren Hayesod, Zionist reconstruction agencies, also begin today.
The 19th World Zionist Congress will open next Tuesday, and will, according to the agenda, last eight days. The opening address will be made by Nahum Sokolow, president of the World Zionist Organization.
An address on ” Problems in the realization of Zionism” will be delivered at the second session by David ben Gurion, head of the political bureau of the Zionist Executive in London. Then will follow a series of reports on the political situation in Palestine, colonization, immigration, the work of the Zionist Executive and the Zionist funds.
Already the Congress Bureau is flooded with work. Hundreds of delegates and newspapermen, and thousands of guests have already arrived here, and must be provided with quarters and other accomodations. A special Congress post-office, and special telephone and telegraph exchanges are already functioning.
