Minister of the Interior General Julius Caplikas today assured a delegation from the Agudath Rabonim, rabbinical assembly, that the authorities would not permit anti-Jewish disturbances of the sort that occurred recently at Telshi.
The delegation called on General Caplikas to warn him of the dangerous anti-Jewish agitation that had developed in many townships following the Telshi riots in which Jewish houses were stoned.
A military court at Telshi today sentenced eighteen of the rioters to various terms in prison.
