At an extraordinary session of the Central Union of Jews in Germany, held under the chairmanship of Justizrat Julius Brodnitz, it was unanimously decided today to adopt the organization’s new name.

The organization, the oldest and most powerful of Jewish representative bodies, was formerly known as the Central Union of German Citizens of the Jewish Faith. The change in name was forced upon the union by Hans Hinkel, Nazi Commissar for “Non-Aryan” Culture.

Dr. Brodnitz was confirmed as president.
