An “Aryan” business man who testified that he had been forced to discharge three Jewish employes was today ordered by a local court to pay them each three months’ salary in lieu of notice.
The merchant declared in court that he had discharged the three Jews only after pressure had been brought against him by the Nazi press. He testified that he had been absolutely satisfied with the work of the three men but when Nazi newspapers began to refuse his advertisements, he was obliged to dismiss them.
The incident is the second within a week in which discharged Jewish employes have been awarded salary settlements. Last Thursday a local court ordered the “Aryan” purchaser of a Jewish-owned firm to pay three months’ salary to a Jewish employe discharged by him when he bought the business.
