Karl Weil, head of the Jewish banking house of Weil and Company, was arrested here yesterday and all branches of his concern throughout Wuertenberg were closed.

The arrest and closing of the banks, including the headquarters here, are believed to be the result of a drive by the Nazi authorities to liquidate private Jewish banks.

Der Angriff, organ of the Propaganda Minister, Dr. Paul Joseph Goebbels, recently predicted that such a drive would be instituted and that about 3,000 Jewish employes would be affected.
