Warning of a “general collapse” of aid to German refugees in Holland unless additional funds are received was issued today by the American Joint Distribution Committee. The statement quoted a report the J.D.C. had received attributing the impending collapse “entirely to the daily arrival of new refugees and the registration of German Jews who have recently lost their work permits.”
The work in Holland, according to Joseph C. Hyman, secretary, includes payment of transportation for refugees on their way to other refuge centers and provision of minimum funds for them; maintenance of two training centers at Wieringen and Veresnigung to train refugees for agriculture and other occupations.
