Government statistics show that only a small portion of State lands leased to Jews is cultivable, the British Royal Commission was told today by Dr. Maurice Hexter of the Palestine executive of the Jewish Agency.

According to the statistics, Dr. Hexter said, of 180,000 dunams (about 45,000 acres) leased to Jews actually only 3,000 are cultivable, deductions being made for sand dunes, rocky and marshy terrain as well as for areas leased to the Palestine Potash Company and other privately operated firms and institutions not specially Jewish.
