Charges that the mandate is illegal, that the Jews have lowered Palestine morals and that Arab landowners are being ruined by high taxes were placed before the Royal Commission of Inquiry today by Jammal Husseini, nephew of the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem.

Jammal further charged that the Palestine Government was not developing self-governing institutions. Lord Peel, chairman, pointed out that the Arabs had constantly refused to participate in a legislature Jammal said the refusal was based on the fact that the proposed legislature would not have given the Arabs the same competence as given Iraq and Syria.

Fuad Saba, another member of the Arab Supreme Committee, testified on the economic causes of the Arab unrest.

Examination of Auni Bey Abdul Hadi’s testimony before the commission last night discloses that, in addition to other demands, he asked the expulsion of all Jews who were not Palestine citizens.
