The Hebrew University in Jerusalem was advanced as a means to redeem Jewry from its "present cultural sterility" by Prof. Mordecai M. Kaplan of the Jewish Theological Seminary, speaking at a public meeting tonight marking the university’s twelfth anniversary at Temple Emanu-El.
"If we want it the Hebrew University can equal the temple of old in significance to the Jewish people of our day," Dr. Kaplan said. He declared the institution served as "the highest common denominator of unity and cooperation among Jews."
