Mexican Senate Body Approves Demand for Ban on Jewish Immigration

A SPECIAL SENATE COMMITTEE HAS REPORTED WITH APPROVAL A PROPOSAL TO HALT JEWISH IMMIGRATION INTO MEXICO CONTAINED IN A MEMORANDUM SUBMITTED BY AN ORGANIZATION CALLED THE REVOLUTIONARY ACTION FOR SMALL TRADERS AND INDUSTRIES.

THE COMMITTEE’S REPORT SAID THE BAN ON JEWISH IMMIGRATION WOULD SERVE AS THE FIRST OF A SERIES OF MEASURES DIRECTED AGAINST THE JEWS IN ALL FIELDS, DEMANDED IN THE MEMORANDUM. THESE OTHER MEASURES, THE COMMITTEE SAID, REMAINED TO BE WORKED OUT.

THE JEWISH CHAMBER OF COMMERCE HAS DRAWN UP A MEMORANDUM ADDRESSED TO THE SENATE ATTACKING THE PROJECTED LAW.
