“PRISONERS ARE STILL TORTURED TO DEATH IN GERMAN CONCENTRATION CAMPS.” A SPECIAL CORRESPONDENT OF THE LABORITE DAILY HERALD DECLARED TODAY, CITING THE CASE OF A WEALTHY MAN OF JEWISH ORIGIN WHO, THE CORRESPONDENT SAID, DIED IN THE DACHAU CAMP.

DR. ASCHER, OF FRANKFORT, A FORMER HIGH OFFICIAL, WAS ARRESTED, ACCORDING TO THE HERALD, AFTER HE WAS HEARD TO SAY TO HIS SON, WHO PICKED UP THE NAZI ORGAN, DER ANGRIFF, FROM A TABLE IN A CAFE, “DO NOT TOUCH THAT RAG.” ALTHOUGH ACQUITTED BY THE FRANKFORT CORRECTIONAL COURT, DR. ASCHER WAS IMMEDIATELY RE-ARRESTED BY THE GESTAPO (SECRET STATE POLICE) AND CONFINED IN THE DACHAU CONCENTRATION CAMP. THREE WEEKS LATER HIS FAMILY WAS ADVISED THAT HE HAD DIED.
