The 150th General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of the United States, which opened today, had before it a recommendation that the Presbyterian Church lead Protestant denominations in raising a fund to aid the victims of “Hitler’s anti-Semitism,” to be administered by the Joint Distribution Committee.
The proposal was made last night at a preliminary conference by Dr. Conrad Hoffman Jr., assistant secretary of the Presbyterian Board of National Missions, who said that every church has protested against anti-Semitism, “but we are duty-bound to put our protest into action.
