The Ministry of Transport had today a petition by Dr. William Filderman, president of the Union of Rumanian Jews, protesting against the law which restricts the engineering profession to Rumanian citizens. Under this measure, Jewish engineers who have been denaturalized in the citizenship revision are not entitled to practice their profession although they were graduated from Rumanian universities.

According to newspaper reports, the Education Ministry is about to issue a decree forbidding Jewish schools to conduct Sunday morning classes in any but religious subjects. The Ministry is reported to be undecided on whether to make Saturday attendance at Jewish schools compulsory.
