Eleven German-Jewish refugees have been refused permission to land at Batavia, Dutch East Indies. It was reported here today, the immigration officials contending that they were not bona fide tourists. The refugees are returning on the same steamer, the Johan van Olde, to Amsterdam.

The World Federation of Polish Jews has launched a campaign to raise $5,000 here for the relief of Polish-Jewish deportees dumped by Germany into Poland. Half of the sum was raised within a few hours.
