The blackshirted Schutzstaffel personal guards of Reich Protector Konstantin von Neurath have been so “demoralized” by the hostile attitude of Czechs in Prague that they are being replaced by a new detachment from Germany, it was learned in German circles here today. Meanwhile, a moving anti-German demonstration at a theater here was reported. The audience spontaneously rose and sang the Czech national anthem, with tears pouring down their faces, when the principal character in the play “Lucerna” spoke the words: “I would defend my State even if I had to die for it.”
