Reich Anti-jewish Laws Introduced in Polish Silesia

Download PDF for this date

It was reliably learned tonight that the Reich has put into effect in Polish Silesia all the laws now being enforced in Germany, especially the rigorous anti-Semitic measures.

All Jewish shops have been closed. No Jew has the right to carry on trade or even sell his property. Automobiles and radios belonging to Jews have been confiscated. In order to circumvent this, many Jews gave their automobiles to Polish friends as out-right gifts.

The Nazi authorities have compelled the Jews to do the work of cleaning up the damage caused damage caused by German air raids and bombardments. It is the Jews who are filling the shell holes and bomb craters and sweeping the wreckage of shattered buildings. Severe penalties await all who refuse or who work too slowly, it was said.
