In a telephoned message from Montreal commenting on the cancellation of his French citizenship, Pierre Lazareff, ex-editor of Paris-Soit said the action was typical of a Nazi-controlled government which had reinstated Paul Ferdonnet, “traitor of Stuttgart,” as a French citizen. Lazareff pointed out that he had left France with official permission and even “the advice of several ministers of the Petain cabinet.”

Henri Torres has taken up permanent residence in Rio de Janeiro. He had been scheduled to defend Herschel Grynszpan, young Polish Jew who killed a German embassy official in Paris in 1938.
