Chief Rabbi Arnold Kiss of the Buda Jewish Community died today in the Pester Chewra Kadischa hospital. Member of a noted rabbinical family of Nagybecskerek, southern Hungarian town now belonging to Yugoslavia, he was rabbi in Zsolna and Veszprem and came to Budapest in 1900. He was for more than 40 years leader of the Jewish community of Buda, one of the two sections forming the capital city. He was known as a gifted speaker, poet and writer.
