Jews in Rumania, despite the fact that they are deprived of all civil rights, will be compelled to finance the so-called Rumanian “Victory Parade,” it was reported here today from Bucharest. The Jews will also be ordered to provide funds to reward the Rumanian soldiers who fought at Odessa. Similarly they will be requested to make provisions for the families of the fallen.

Simultaneously, it was reported here today that the Rumanian authorities have proclaimed the occupied Odessa district as a section of Rumania to be known as the province of Transnistria. Jews in this province have been ordered, under a special “Jewish law,” to reside in isolated sections. Those caught outside the segregated areas will be treated as spies. At the same time Jews in the Rumanian-occupied part of the Soviet Ukraine are being used to do salvage and reconstruction work in the war demolished towns, the report states.
