Nazis Resume Deportation of Jews from Reich After Brief Respite

The deportation of German Jews to Nazi-occupied Eastern territories which was suddenly suspended during the week-end was resumed on Monday night, the Berlin correspondent of the Gotesborg Posten, a Swedish newspaper, reported today. Prior to their deportation, the Jews were ordered by the Gestapo to surrender all woolen articles they possessed, the correspondent informs.

The Berlin correspondent of another Swedish newspaper, Svenska Dagbladet, reports today that the Jewish Community of Berlin issued an appeal to its members to donate food ration coupons to the deported Jews in order to provide them with food for the journey. The appeal asked each Jew to contribute coupons for 100 grams of bread, 20 grams of margarine, 50 grams of meat and 50 grams of macaroni.
