Charles A. Riegelman Elected Chairman of Nrs Executive Committee

Charles A. Riegelmen of New York was elected chairman of the Executive Committee of the National Refugee Service, principal service agency for refugees in the United States, at a meeting of the Executive Board, it was announced today at the agency’s headquarters.

Mr. Riegelmen succeeds David H. Sulsberger who has occupied the post since the agency’s inception in June, 1939. Mr. Sulsberger will serve as vice-president of the organization. Mr. Riegelmen, active in philanthropic and communal affairs, has been chairman of the Distribution Committee of the Federation for Support of Jewish Philanthropic Societies since 1940, and trustee-at-large since 1931; a director for ten years of the Hebrew Sheltering Guardian Society, and vice-president and director of the Hebrew Technical School for Girls from 1929 to 1932. He has been a director since 1939 of the National Council of Jewish Federations and Welfare Funds, and a trustee since 1927 of the George Junior Republic Association.
