Presence of American Army in Moslem Countries May Improve Arab-jewish Relations

The belief that the landing of American troops in North Africa will lead to a better understanding between Jews and Arabs since it will discourage fifth-column activities among followers of the ex-Mufti of Jerusalem is expressed here by Arab leaders who favor Arab-Jewish understanding.

The Anti-Fascist Arab League which was formed here month, today announced that it will seek to promote “friendship among all of the world,” The League hailed the Anglo-American-Soviet allian pledged itself to expose the propaganda activities which Germany and Italy are conducting among the Arab people.

At the same time Arab mayors of Southern Palestine held a conference in Falluja village and adopted a resolution oriticizing Wendell Willkie for his pro-Zionist statement made on the observance of Balfour Day in America, The mayors also decided to ask the Government of Palestine to issue a public statement repudiating Mr.Willkie’s remarks.
