Many prominent English Jews who have hitherto abstained from participating in the activities of the Board of Deputies of British Jews are participating in the present elections to the Board which will have its first session on July 4. It will be composed of approximately 400 re-elected and newly-elected members.

More than 380 members, representing a good cross section of British Jewry, have already been elected. They include prominent Jews who will serve on the Board for the first time. Among them are Lady Bearstead, Lady Hartog, Simon Marks, Samuel Salmon, Mrs. Israel Sieff, Victor Gollanz and Basil Henriques.
