Moscow Reports Repatriation of Berditchev Jews; Artisans Among First to Return

Moscow newspapers today report the return of evacuated Jews to the city of Berditchev, where the Germans massacred thousands of Jewish men, women and children who remained there during the Nazi occupation.

The repatriated Jews consist mostly of artisans who are participating in the rebuilding of the city, most of which the Germans destroyed. They are being sheltered in temporary homes prepared for them by the local Soviet authorities.
