On the eve of the opening of official talks, which are scheduled to begin, finally, today, the big news from the pan-Arab unity conference here is that Saudi Arabia and Yemen have agreed to send representatives.

The reversal of his position by King Ibn Saud of Saudi Arabia is of chief interest since he had been adamant in insisting that the conference could serve no purpose until the question of Palestine was solved after the war. Although Palestine is represented only by an observer, it looms as one of the chief topics of discussion.
