Chile Urged to Open Doors to Post-war Immigration; Jca Work Cited As Model

Citing the settlements of the Jewish colonization Association in Argentina as an example, El Mercurio, leading Chilean magazine publishes an article urging the opening of the country to post-war immigration and emphasizing that Chile, with a population of only 6,000,000 has good reason to be interested in such immigration.

The article dwells at great length on the system of colonization introduced by the Jewish Colonization Association in Latin America and quotes some of the statements by government officials in Argentina lauding the Jewish settlements there. If the people of Chile wish to enjoy progress and develop the country’s natural resources, they are advised to take as a model the Jewish Colonization Association and its half-century effort in the field of settlement of immigrants,” the article days.
