News of Assassination Shocks Palestine; New Raids on Terrorists

Jews and non-Jews here were shocked today to learn of the assassination in Cairo of Lord Moyne who, as British Resident Minister for the Middle East, was scheduled to play an important role in deciding the post-war status of Palestine.

Meanwhile, new hunts for terrorists were carried out today in Haifa. A police announcement said that eight terrorists were arrested and important documents concerning terroristic activities were seized during a search of several houses.
