The V-E day riots in Algeria, reports of which are released by the French Government, yesterday, probably were not of an anti-Jewish character, Dr. Jose Aboulker, young Jewish leader who led the Algerian resistance movement, told the Jewish Telegraphic Agency today.

Dr. Aboulker, who represents the Algerian resistance groups in the Consulative Assembly, said, however, that an anti-Jewish tradition still survives in the insufficiently purged administrative circles of Algeria, which attempt, at times, to direct the discontent of the Moslem masses into anti-Jewish channels.

The Moslems, none of whom purchased confiscated Jewish property during the (##)chy regime, are aware, however, that Jews increasingly support their claims for fuller political rights, Dr. Aboulker pointed cut, while the French in Algeria know that three-fourths of the group which paved the way for the Allied landings in North Africa were Jews.
