The 58 Germans being tried at Weissenburg for attacks on Jews, Jewish property and synagogues during the Nov., 1938 pogroms, which were staged following the assassination of Nazi diplomat Erast vom Rath, have all pleaded not guilty. Next week, the only surviving Jew in the Weissenburg district will testify.

In another aftermath of the 1938 outbreaks, the city council of the north Bavarian town of Lichienfels has voted that the buildings formerly used by the Jewish congregation there be repaired at the expense of those who participated in their destruction.
