Rep. Emanual Celler of New York today charged Great Britain with “a unliteral infraction of the Mandate” in setting up Transjordan as an independent nation. In a speech to the House, Celler said that “Britain’s new perfidy means the utter exclusion of Jews” from Transjordan, and urged that neither the United States nor the UNO sanction Britain’s “illegal violation.”
