The central Government decree providing for the restoration to Jews of property confiscated by the Nazis, which up to now has been operative only in Bohemia and Moravia, is to be extended to Slovakia, it was learned today.
An agreement to this effect has been reached as a result of current negotiations between officials of the central Government and Slovak authorities on a number of basic problems affecting Czech-Slovak relations.
The text of the agreement on property restoration will be submitted shortly to President Benes and his cabinet for approval. Slovak Jewish circles hope that it will result in speeding the return of Jewish property, which has been lagging in Slovakia.
