British naval units based in Palestine were speeding today to intercept the Panamanian vessel Beaufarnais, a former U.S. Navy corvette, reported to be carrying 1,300 “visaless” Jewish immigrants to Palestine from an Italian port. The ship was sighted on the high seas today by British planes.
