A report of a specially appointed sub-committee on discriminatory practices of hotels and summer resorts in New England indicates that of the 486 establishments investigated, some 36 percent openly maintain and advertise their discriminatory policies.
The nine-page report made public here by the New England Regional offices of the Anti-Defamation League of B’nai B’rith, estimates that these places distribute a minimum of 500,000 advertising brochures throughout the country. Many of these institutions include discriminatory phrases in this literature and thus effectively serve to propagate attitudes of hatred and prejudice, the report points out.
