Brith Sholom to Raise $40,000 for New Palestinian Colony; Will Occupy 250 Acres

Brith Sholom, a fraternal order with headguarters here, will reise $40,000 to purchase a 250-aore land tract for a new agricultural settlement in Palestine, Frank A. Simons, grand master of the order, and Judge Morzis Rothenberg, president of the Jewish National Fund of America, announced today in a joint statement.

The new colony will be named in honor of Brith Sholom, and is the second land purchase program undertaken by the organization. Its first tract, acquired in 1934, is now part of the communal settlement at Ramat Hashofet, located about 12 miles southeast of Haifa.
