The Palestine Government today invited individuals and organizations desiring to submit memoranda to the U.N. inquiry committee to do so as soon as possible and to submit their material in 30 copies. Persons who wish to be heard orally should apply immediately in writing, the announcement said.
The evening papers reports that the British military command in Palestine today dispatched to London for approval the testimony it will submit to the committee at hearings here. Several of the top leaders of the Palestine Arab Higher Committee conferred this afternoon with the High Commissioner on the question of their appearance before the probers.
Following the conference, Jamal Husseini, deputy chairman of the Higher Committee, told correspondents that he believes that the committee, as well as the Arab government, will boycott the inquiry committee. He also indicated that Arab newspapermen may not cover the activities of the committee.
After a three-month interval, the Chief Secretary of the Palestine Government today resumed his monthly press conference with editors of the local press in Tel Aviv. He said that the government has done everything in its power to combat the boycott proclaimed by the Arabs against Jewish goods and services, but added that the government cannot enter into “diplomatic controversy” with the neighboring countries who are participating in the boycott.
