A week of celebrations to mark the United Nations de-##sion on partition was proclaimed at a conference of Jewish organizations. The conference sent a message of thanks to all governments who voted in favor of parti-##tion. A message was also sent to the Cuban President thanking him for the hospitali-## given by Cuba to Jewish refugees.
The Jews in Cuba are irked at the fact that the Cuban delegation at the United ##tions voted against partition. Jewish leaders did all they could to influence the government to instruct the delegation to at least abstain from voting, but their ef##forts were fruitless.
