The Rumanian Government this week-end issued a decree turning over to the Federation of Jewish Communities heirless property of Jews who were killed during the war-time pro-Nazi regimes. The proceeds of the property will be used by the Federation for the relief of needy Jews.

The decree fulfills one of the chief demands of Rumanian Jewry since the liberation. It is expected that the measure will have its greatest effect in Northern Transylvania from which practically the entire Jewish population was deported to Nazi death camps in 1944.
