Rabbi Simha Assaf, Professor of Gaonic and Rabbinic Literature at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem was elected by the Senate of fie University as Rector for the academic years 19^8-50, it was announced here today the American Friends of the Hebrew University. Last week Rabbi Assaf was elected by the Israeli State Council as one of five justices of its newly-established Supreme Court.
