Optimism regarding the possibility of peace in Palestine was expressed here today by U.N. Secretary General Trygve Lie upon his return from the Paris session of the United Nations General Assembly.

Mr. Lie also expressed satisfaction with the adoption by the General Assembly of the genocide convention to outlaw the mass murder of racial and religious groups, and especially with the fact that the international pact, immediately after its adoption, was signed by the representatives of twenty governments. He also landed the adoption of the Declaration of Human Rights by the Assembly.
