The World Jewish Congress today reported that it addressed a letter to the Chilean Ambassador at Washington in which roar was ex-pressed that the provision in the recent Chilean immigration decree providing for the admission of “races related by affinity” may tend to exclude Jewish immigrants.

Recognizing the right of any state to set up certain criteria in the selection of immigrants, the World Jewish Congress urged that “victims of racial, religious or political persecution be granted equal status with preferential categories.”
