The Chinese representative at the U.N., Ambassador T. F. Tsiang, today signed, on behalf of his country, the convention outlawing the crime of genocide. The ceremony took place at U.N. headquarters here.
China is the twenty-sixth country to sign the convention which will come into force upon ratification by 20 countries. So far only Australia and Ethiopia have ratified it.
