$50,000,000 Appropriated by Israel to Provide Work for Unemployed Immigrants

At least 18,000,000 pounds ($50,400,000) has already been allocated by the government for public works projects which will provide 2,000,000 work days, the Labor Ministry announced today. One million pounds has been allocated for the construction of public schools throughout the country, it added.

Ten thousand new immigrants have been established in agricultural settlements. A special fund of $180,000 pounds has been set up to construct auxiliary farms in various settlements for these new settlers.

Meanwhile, 900 more immigrants arrived in Haifa today from Marseilles aboard the transport Negba.
