“The Jews of Jerusalem take the position that the city cannot be internationalized, not in a spirit of defiance of the United Nations, but in the pursuit of the elementary right of self-determination,” Eli Eliashar, member of the Israel parliament, declared here prior to his return to Jerusalem.

Mr. Eliashar, who is the leader of the Sephardic community in Jerusalem, visited the United States as a member of the delegation elected by the World ORT Union to participate with the American ORT Federation in negotiations with the Joint Distribution Committee for 1950 fund allocations.
