Moshe Sneh, a leader of the Mapam, today addressed a written query to Premier David Ben Gurion concerning reports that the Israel Government had agreed to construct in Israel a portion of an international automobile road which will eventually link Istanbul and Cairo. The Premier’s reply is expected next week.

Mr. Sneh asked whether the reports were accurate and whether such a road would not threaten Israel’s security ina## as no peace treaty has yet been signed with Egypt and Syria, through which the road will run. He also declared that the raod was a threat to Israel’s independence in view of “American imperialistic designs to establish strategical anti-Russian bases,” The query also asked whether the Premier was prepared to announce Israel’s opposition to such a project.
