Shipping trade between the port of Trieste and Israel was more than twice as large in the first 10 months of 1949 as for the same period in 1948, according to official statistics released today. A total of 450,000 tons of goods were shipped from Trieste to Israel during the entire year of 1948, while shipments in the first 10 months of last year totalled 950,000 tons.
