Authoritative sources here today stated that an exchange of views has taken place between Britain and the United States on arms deliveries to Israel, but that no formal request for arms has been received by Britain from the Israel Government.

The Foreign Office here said that the Israel Legation in London made an “informal approach” to the government regarding arms, but that no reply has so far been given. Unofficially, authoritative British sources expressed the view that no reply to any informal approach on the part of Israel is to be expected.
