Mrs. J. Borden Harriman, former United States Minister to Norway and a prominent civic leader in Washington, has accepted the chairmanship of the Women’s Division of the National Christian Committee of the United Jewish Appeal, it was announced yesterday by Franklin D. Roosevelt, Jr., chairman of the committee.

“The task of restoring dignity and peace to the Jewish people of Europe,” Mrs. Harriman stated in accepting the post, “is an opportunity for every true Christian American as well as for American Jews. For this reason, it would seem right for all Americans who believe in our way of life to support the program of the United Jewish Appeal.”
