Jews in the United States were urged to emigrate to Israel “in the thousands” in a Passover message issued here by Israel’s Chief ##abbi Dr. Isaac Herzog. The Chief Rabbi warned at the same time that the danger for Israel is still not over and appealed to the Jews in the democratic countries to do their utmost for the Jewish state.

“From the DP camps in Europe, from Yemen and from North Africa, our brethren stream to Israel in the tens of thousands,” the message said. “We hope that they will soon come from Iraq, the country of our first exile. You, the Jews who know and enjoy freedom in the United States and in other countries, should come at least in the thousands.”
