President Truman in a message to the three-day convention of the Jewish National Welfare Board, which takes place here this week-end, today lauded the role which Frank L. Weil, president of the J.W.B., has played in Jewish communal life during the last ten years.
“You have richly earned the thanks not only of your co-religionists but of your country generally for a decade of constructive leadership and accomplishment,” President Truman said in his message. Mr. Weil is retiring as president of the National Jewish Welfare Board after ten consecutive years of service. A testimonial dinner will be tendered to him on Sunday, during the convention.
The 500 delegates attending the convention will discuss plans for expanding and intensifying relationships among Jewish community centers, synagogues, and Jewish schools. The convention will also formulate a public affairs program to guide Jewish centers in their work.
