Knesset Committee Recommends Holding of National Elections in Israel on Feb. 20, 1951

The Parliamentary Legal Committee, which is preparing a national election law under instructions from the Knesset, today suggested Feb. 20, 1951, as the date for new nationwide balloting.

At today’s meeting of the dissolved Cabinet Foreign Minister Moshe Sharett concluded his lengthy report on the international situation. The body also approved various minor laws and decided that Israel would participate in the International Anti-Slavery Convention and in the Convention on Economic Statistics.
